This EPS test examines the risk of cardiac events that are triggered by uncontrollable reflexes in the body when in an upright position. The tilt test is also used to diagnose the cause of fainting and blackouts. By inducing fainting in a controlled setting, the patient‘s heart rate, blood pressure and reflexes can be monitored and the cause of blackouts diagnosed.
