The term applied to radiation treatment for coronary stenoses, this form of treatment was first used in the New York area at Beth Israel. These treatments reduce recurrent stenoses by virtue of their ability to reduce cell proliferation. Both beta and gamma irradiation treatments are available at our center. With NIH funding and in collaboration with colleagues in Radiation Oncology, we are at the forefront in investigating advanced uses for this technology.
