New Site Chief of Cardiac Surgery Appointed
at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center

It is our pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr. Daniel O. Swistel as the new Chief of Cardiac Surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Dr. Swistel has been an attending at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt since 1987, most recently as acting site director.

After graduating from Harvard College and Rutgers Medical School, Dr. Swistel completed his surgical internship and residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and his residency in cardiothoracic surgery at the Albert Einstein/Montefiore Medical Center. He has authored many scientific publications and presented at numerous national and international meetings. Certified by the American Boards of both Surgery and Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Swistel is best known for his work on total arterial myocardial revascularization and the use of the operating microscope.
